Life expectancy

Life expectancy is the statistically determined average lifetime, i.e. the time between birth and death. Remaining life expectancy (or “age-adjusted life expectancy”) specifies how long on average a 60-year-old can expect to live.

Life expectancy is usually calculated using a life table. This is a demographic model based on death data for the last three years and assumptions for the future.
